Role Overview

The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Corporation. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial health, reporting, and integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Fund Custody: Supervises the charge and custody of all funds of the Corporation.
  2. Deposits: Supervises the deposit of funds in the manner prescribed by the Board.
  3. Accounting: Supervises the keeping and maintaining of adequate and correct accounts of the Corporation’s properties and business transactions.
  4. Reporting: Renders reports and accounting as required.
  5. Committees: Specifically designated as the Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee.

Budget & Finance Committee

The Treasurer chairs the Budget & Finance Committee. This committee is responsible for developing the annual budget, financial strategy, and oversight.

Executive Committee

The Treasurer serves as a member of the Executive Committee, alongside the President, Vice President, and Secretary.

Financial Oversight

  • Checks & Notes: The Treasurer (typically as a member of the Executive Committee) plays a key role in authorizing checks and financial instruments. Checks often require signatures from Executive Committee members or the Executive Director + one Executive Committee member.
